(LIKE) OH MY GOD

24/08/2007

Well, this may very well be the last update for quite a while. For those of you not entirely in the loop I’m going to be a don in one of the university residences this semester. I think this will be a lot of fun and really rewarding in the end, but that doesn’t stop the fact that training starts tomorrow and I have a few things to still finish up before then. Managed to get in a decent amount of hours these last two weeks at work though, I’m still not sure if I want to go more so towards trying to pay next tuition myself or OSAP it. I have a feeling I have to figure this out soon, because too much more and they’ll be huge asses and decline me again; Anyway.

I’m now moved into my new place, it’s pretty nice, I’m going to try to grab some pictures tomorrow and post them before vanishing. There is a lot of white space on the walls though, so I definitely need to finally get around to getting some posters to decorate this place — I’ll be here for 8 months from now after all and that’s a long time. I don’t really have too much to add, except maybe I already miss a few people from Waterloo who aren’t going to be around this upcoming semester or aren’t here right now at least =P

Well, I think I’ll leave it at that, going to go answer a quick quiz about questions from my contract, shouldn’t be too hard.

I know you miss me. Don’t deny it.

I’ve seen some of the don rooms at UWP and they can be HUGE. Congratulations on getting the job. Be firm with your residents; don’t let them walk all over you, or you’re going to have a tough year. Establish yourself as the boss early on and you’re set. Trust me. I know these things.

I’m getting ready for my big move which is scheduled to take place a week from tomorrow. I’ve already called TekSavvy and arranged to have my DSL set up a day before I move in. To hell with cable and phone; all I want is my Internet!

More to come at my blog shortly!

haha, thanks Alice, will do! I’m not too worried, but at the same time I can’t help but feel a bit anxious. Plus the schedule looks somewhat daunting, it’s 8am-11pm PM days starting tomorrow and right to Friday and then of course move in week.

I’m not sure if I can grab your suite until sometime later maybe, I don’t have keys to it :( but I’ll try :)

I got 2 questions wrong, so 95% btw on the quiz…

When does your RIM co-op start, September or sooner? How’s T.? Going to help Andrew move in? ;)

Yeah, I sort of do miss Muji!

It’s not huge, but it’s way bigger then what I guess I need, but you won’t see me complaining. It’s nice, but I could somehow go for a bigger bed, they’re basically just like in MKV. I’m not entirely sure if you were joking for the dominance section, haha, go internet… but thanks for the advice, will do! =D

Let me know how the move to T. goes, I’d say stop in, but I don’t think I’ll be able to see you this upcoming week for sure.

Maybe if you’re free drop by Saturday, 1st, for some RCC training action and free food? And write something…. GOGOGOGOGO!

    Ma

You better have that Wii setup :p Or else my walk over to your place from mine, will be worth nothing and the Guiness I bring will be worthless. Although my walk over wont be for like two weeks. :p

Tend to agree with Mujibar - firm and authoritative is good, everybody knows where they stand and that makes things easier, no second-guessing and confusion. I can lend you a picture with birch trees for your bare white walls, if you want. Congratulations on your donship, new digs, 95%, and new school year about to start. Life is good.

yes, be firm and don’t let them walk all over you, but that’s a basic rule of life, not of being a don specifically. be a nice one! ass-y dons never get talked to and then when you have to take care of a girl that has been date raped at a party, no one will trust you enough to tell you all the details. you gotta be approachable and if that means throwing the firm out the window, go for it.

Thanks for the advice Sanya, I have psych majors on my side! :)
I’ll bring out some tears if needed, it’ll be cute, I promise.
