It’s Like Camp!

30/04/2007

Just finished moving today to my new place, it’s super familiar, seeing as how it’s almost identical to the one I lived in in first year. But we had our house meeting today, which was awesome! Learned some fun things to maybe try when I have to be the don in the fall, speaking of, we can’t call our don, don, so Kris, Kristen, or Krissy it is :)

I’ll take pictures once I’m done making the room pretty and all, I’ve pretty much got everything put away, but it’s lacking some life and accessories. Maybe if the colour printer at work would get put together already after 2 days and 3 techs I could make some prints already XD

But where I was going with this, is after the meeting I walked back to my place, and walked out onto some grass, over a sandy hill, wearing sandals and there was that delicious smoke smell in the air from a good fire and a cool-ish spring feel. For some reason I really thought back to camp, the ones I used to go to for I think 3 years and how awesome they were. I just kinda wanted to share that feeling.

Glad you are settling in your “new old” digs. How is the green thing liking all the moving? It is quite soggy here, perhaps we should get the burn barrell going to recreate your “smoking” experience. It is a really precious gift to be able to notice and enjoy such subtle things, you know…

Ah, the sweet smell of barbecue in the air. Actually, yesterday afternoon I was walking around the city (since my frickin’ car is dead again) and pretty much every 5 minutes I could smell barbecue. It was wonderful, yet bittersweet (since I can’t eat normal food yet).

I’m getting there, though! Less than three months!
