We had two more games today, back to back. It was a lot of fun, but I’m so dead, out of 13 people on our roster only 8 showed up. Trying to make something out of that is an experience in frustration playing against a full team with substitutes. Anyway, we lost both games 0-6, the first team even said we totally had them dominated if we weren’t down so many people, and it’s true, we had the ball in their side most of the time before we just got tired.
I also have a huge bump on my forehead, let’s just say I headed the ball, the other guy liked my forehead more >.< Good thing I didn’t agree to getting my hair cut, as it at least mostly covers it. At this point I’m just ridiculously tired, and I need to find something to do this evening, so that’s all.

Ok, so where were we… oh right, 248 words into an essay which I’ve been trying to get interested in for the last hour and a half now, I’m obviously failing as evident by the writing of yet another blog post. To give some msn conversation context to this for no reason whatsoever here’s some copy and paste action which I’ve been craving to do recently.
Andrew says:
hmm
leave it for tomorrow morning?
…sergey says:
Hell no, I’m not pulling a Sharon, I’ll leave it until the afternoon!
Andrew says:
lol
excellent
The weekend was awesome! I definitely need to get back into the money saving mode again though, it’s not that I’m short, but I just don’t like how much I’m spending right now. On Friday, I played more soccer while Adam was finishing up the workday, is this really a surprise anymore? And then afterwards we congregated in my lounge and got enough people’s interested to not only discuss cars with Lu (she’s also awesome), but to get a whole group down there for good times and poker. I came in 2nd because I felt there was a need to get it over with and go out, Adam came in 3rd with the same idea
So Chris was at Molly’s! So was Bob, but he was working! I got to officially meet Cindy and another waitress there — we had some good drinks — the band was phenomenal! Actually, there was this one totally drunk guy playing with them and he gave some awesome improv lines and artistic performances on the tables… you had to be there to totally get it. We were there right until close and I pretty much just ended up going to sleep after, which is actually becoming a painful experience lately.
I’ve now had more bruises in the last 2 weeks then I think I have in the entire last year. There’s a huge one on my left leg just to the left and below the knee where I got landed on, there’s a smaller one lower down on the right side where my other leg hit when I got tripped (which by the way was hilarious because it was from behind by Sam, another guy from my building, I think he owed me one since I took him down last time XD ), moving on, there’s a huge bump just to the right of the knee on the right leg from the same fall, it was interesting though, I was like “Oh that’s someone hitting my leg, that’s my leg catching my other one, oh… better start folding the arms in and getting into the shoulder roll position… I was half laughing on the ground and everyone’s like Oh my god are you ok?”
Rest assured, all the bruises are still fun to poke at!
For half the day, there was a crowd outside my window, they were taking all the pop and beer bottles they could find and shaking them up and then trying to hit them with this huge metal ring thing they were dropping from 2nd or 3rd floor of the building next to mine, it was amusing to watch. Mike, Darcy, Nathan and Ken came down on Saturday night. It’s always fun when those guys are down, and this time was no exception. Had another “oh I’ve done this now” thing checked off the list, nothing bad, just interesting, I’ll leave it at that. *Time warp*. So we ended up having hilarious conversations on the stairs by my res at around 1-2am, eventually we went inside after one of the don’s Mais walked by and asked us to be quieter, just for the record, my room I think can fit 6 people comfortably if only they would listen to me and bring sleeping bags!
Today I got soaked, again. Then I took some emo-eque in the mirror pictures. I got to water my plant with my clothes — which was worth it ![]()

Also was throwing around this frisby like device, just hollow in the middle with Sam and Ray. And Ray totally got it into the tallest tree next to us right at the top, seeing as how we already got it out of another shorter one with our sandals earlier, the course of action seemed clear! 3 throws later, one of Sam’s sandals was now also in the tree, 2 more later and with little left to lose, so was his other sandal >.< I decided to not try my luck the second time.
Well, I better try and wrap this up, I wish writing the essay was this much fun, I’d be done already. I have two group assignments due tomorrow in one class, this essay, and then a test on Thursday and a double midterm header next week one right after another. It looks like it’s time to start trying to get some work accomplished a bit in advance.
Byeeeeee!
Recently I think I got accused of summarizing too much of the days activities. Well, I’ve taken this feedback and bundled it all into this post! Kidding aside, prepare for the great summary of things happening here because Sharon asked — and this blog has spell check and it’s just easier to copy it into the other comments after
- The weather here is really hot too, I think it was 31 degrees yesterday and 30 degrees the day before, today, as of 3 seconds ago according to our sometimes lying weather station it’s just under 25 degrees and really freaking humid. It’s been really humid for a few days now, and yesterday towards the end of the day there were some clouds and I was kinda hoping it would rain already, but nope
- I haven’t seen Bob or Chris for a while, well, last time I saw Bob was last week when I dropped by to pay off that bill we bailed on at Molly’s. It was pretty amusing because I’m talking to Bob and the bartender guy who draws the pictures in the Guinness (I really need to learn his name) and I’m like, “So, how much do we owe you?” and they’re both like we don’t know XD Anyway, I think I ended up paying way less then what we actually owed that night. And then I actually was there with Adam on Tuesday and the bartender was talking to me and he’s like “Oh, where’s your brown friend?!” XD again.
- Guinness was on sale at the LCBO, I know you hugely miss it, and I will do my best not to tease with it more — but on sale!
- Adam also downloaded a new level for the LocoRoco game, the little yellow guy, that breaks into smaller yellow guys and you start on a pirate ship, anyway, it’s awesome!
- I think I’m getting a dose of that whole knee pops and then huge amounts of pain experience, one of the games we played some guy landed right on the side of my leg, right below the knee and that kinda bent it sideways… a lot =/ I should probably go and maybe get this looked at since it’s been doing this for more then a week now, but first there’s soccer today again, and I think I’ve talked Adam enough into actually coming out to play. Oh yeah, next week I have 2 games in the league scheduled one right after another, that’s gonna be death.
- Let’s see, Mike and Darcy and maybe some others are coming down this weekend, I don’t know if you remember them. You met them that day when you dropped by in the morning-ish with the homework in REV.
- Justin may or may not be winning $7000 from some kind of radio contest that’s going on, I think he finds out sometime by the end of this weekend, if he wins I think he should take us all out
- Pirates of the Caribbean came out today, apparently it’s bad and Jack Sparrow isn’t as awesome anymore, so may have to come back to this. We kinda decided not to try and see it today since we’d have to show up to the theatre at least 4-5 hours in advance.
- I was going to say Andrew, but he already gave you his version, and he knows more about himself then I do… which is a good thing, I think o.O
- Jen says hi, or she probably does, I ran into her yesterday on campus, but we were both in a hurry so we didn’t talk much.
- It’s kinda interesting to look at the picture from the statistics software I run on here and see visitors from Japan, sooo cool and weird! =D The other dots are Sakai and Chiyoda.

Well, that’s mostly everything that’s kind of an update that I can think of for now.
I’ve been meaning to have a quick personal go at the Heroes finale that aired this last Monday. For the sake of everyone who hasn’t seen it, mass spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned!
The Good!
- It actually wrapped up! I know this seems to be an odd comment for a season finale of a show. However a lot of shows leave so many loose ends at the end in addition to presenting the hooks for the next season that you are left in a huge turmoil of frustration. Heroes wrapped up a lot of points nicely and settled the main storyline of the first season. And did it ever introduce a bunch more spoilers to get me pumped for next season.
- Hiro is bad-ass. Ando is likewise totally bad-ass, but kinda silly.
The Bad
- Ok, Sylar vs Peter vs Heroes. The fight in the future setting was already about a bijillion times cooler. First of all, Sylar, for being so smart in previous battles just totally sucked. The best he can do is watch Hiro run like 10 meters towards him with a sword and stab him? Please! This fight had epic potential written all over it and could have been amazing, yet it was mostly irrelevant. No one died, nothing really cool happened, there wasn’t an oh my god my jaw just dropped moment.
- Only one hero dies, period, it might be the right one in terms of a redemption plotline, but he hasn’t really done anything bad yet either. So not sure. Speaking of, why did he have to do that anyway. Peter can certainly use any of his other powers on his own, why not flight also, why not Hiro’s teleportation while we’re at it.
- There were also about a million and one ways that they could have stopped Peter from exploding, and yet they went with perhaps the most cliche one. Knock him out, shoot him, have him teleport somewhere, have him fly on his own, etc.
The Interesting Comments
- So Sylar is not dead, again.
- That samurai in the past, is it the one Hiro admires? Is it his father? Is it his grandfather? Why does the samurai army use the yet unexplained symbol that appears as a tattoo on Nicki’s shoulder? What is that symbol?
- Who was the guy in the past that saw Peter? Why does he know so much? Who is the previous group of Heroes that’s discussed as starting with a good goal, but then shattering?
- Where do we go from here, I can’t foresee a storyline in the past, it would just seem to odd, especially considering how many characters are left in the present.
- Do all those plot twists in the future not matter at all? Why were they so elaborate then if the future is completely changed?
I almost think I want to sit down and have a conversation with someone who watches the show and discuss so many more points! But maybe soon, we shall see ![]()
I had my first season game of soccer today. I joined as an individual, so we got assigned teams of other people who joined by themselves, in my case I think the team is I31 Inter Intermediate Agents… interesting. I showed up at the fields really early, kinda didn’t have much else to do, so I figured I’d just watch some other games until our time. There was some concern for a while about how many players we had, since until the last moment we didn’t have a full team =P Oh well, I kinda like playing without any substitutes, more fun
We lost the game 0 to 2 by the way. Which isn’t too bad, I think we could have had it really. We spent most of the first half just getting settled into some positions and figuring out who plays better where. The first goal was a huge scramble in front of our net, and for a sec I thought we cleared it, but I guess not. The second one was, uhm, shite. There are two refs in the game, the main one, and one to call just outs and offsides on the opposite side. Apparently the one covering our goal didn’t know what the offside rule is until we brought it up at the half way point. Anyway, so that’s what happened with the second goal
I also had one of my shots hand-balled right in the box without a call, meh. So, now that the griping part is over, it was a lot of fun! If our schedules were actually posted, I’d be saying “Can’t wait for ______!”, instead I’ll just go with can’t wait for it!
Was watching the hockey game in the lounge in the evening today too, and Sam actually gave me an awesome idea by proxy. He signed up for an all-star team and an advanced team to get more games. I should have really done the same if I thought of it sooner, good thing there’s always next year!
When leaving my last class of the day yesterday, I was greeted with a very nice outside scene of absolutely pouring rain. Not really wanting to wait around for it to calm down since I wanted to get home, and well equipped with sandals on my feet I just walked through it. It was rather amusing because on some parts of the path my sandals were definitely entirely submerged in water, and then sometimes a stream would sort of flow over them when I had to cross the road; I was somewhat eyeing the metal lamp-posts that I was passing by because of the lightning and thunder, in summary, cool! I think the end result would have been the same if I had jumped into a pool and got out after a couple of minutes.
I didn’t end up risking taking my phone out outside, it already got a bit wet as is despite being in my bag. But here are some contrast pictures from that sunshine, and I snagged 2 videos, which are really bad quality
but do sort of get the point across as you can see the wind and the rain squalls on the road.
Now, sorry for the quality, but if you’re interested, here are the two videos:
Video 1 and Video 2.
In the end, this storm trapped Adam inside his house with power lines and we didn’t go to the movies, but the rain itself with the storm was really cool
splurge /splɜrdʒ/ Pronunciation Key - verb, splurged, splurg·ing, noun
–verb (used without object)
1. to indulge oneself in some luxury or pleasure, esp. a costly one: They splurged on a trip to Europe.
Went to do some shopping today before my class. I ended up getting some shorts, because it’s getting entirely too hot for pants and jeans, a light t-shirt for soccer (mmm…) and the main attractions which follow!

First of all, meet my new toy, the Nintendo DS! I haven’t named it yet, but I probably should, it was an awesome birthday present from Sharon and Adam! The other item, Puzzle Quest, as presented by PA is the new purchase of the day. I meant to get it earlier, it was actually the game I tried to find for Sharon’s birthday in April, but it was impossible to get without hounding the store on the day it arrived XD I mainly got it because my Econ statistics class is taught by a professor who seems really bad. She also spends an hour on items that should take 10 minutes and then 2 hours the next class reviewing them. So, here’s to passing time

*Glazed puppy eyes with tears go here*, it’s been a really long time since I had proper soccer cleats. I had them in grade school, or was it just at the beginning of high school when I played soccer here for a bit. I can’t remember those, but then before those I had a really nice set of Puma ones which I think I grew out of. Anyway, meet the new pair
I picked them up at SportsCheck, a bit of a tense moment there, because there weren’t really any others that I liked, except a really, really expensive pair that I probably wouldn’t have bought. So when the sales guy came back saying he could only find 11 1/2 after I asked for a size 12 I was like “common, fit!” and they did! So yeah, my first official season game is this Thursday, Rhesa is coming out as my “coach” as he said haha, and I think we’re playing again for fun on Friday. These are going to get a lot of use this summer!
So yeah, with Sharon on her Japan adventure I wanted some things to fill in the extra time and these two seemed like the best choices. I also got some book with 4 fictional short stories about events in history that could have gone differently — it was $4 — so I couldn’t really say no.
Well, as some of you know, I’ve managed to move into a double room all by myself
And since I’m almost sure I took some pictures out of all the windows of my previous residence during a blizzard, this time around I figured I’d do it during a really nice and sunny day. The picture descriptions are mostly self-explanatory, so, enjoy!
