Ok, maybe I’m making a derivative work of what felt like on of the best episodes of Heroes I’ve watched to date. But it seems to me that it applied: 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0

It’s Like Camp!

Just finished moving today to my new place, it’s super familiar, seeing as how it’s almost identical to the one I lived in in first year. But we had our house meeting today, which was awesome! Learned some fun things to maybe try when I have to be the don in the fall, speaking of, we can’t call our don, don, so Kris, Kristen, or Krissy it is :)

I’ll take pictures once I’m done making the room pretty and all, I’ve pretty much got everything put away, but it’s lacking some life and accessories. Maybe if the colour printer at work would get put together already after 2 days and 3 techs I could make some prints already XD

But where I was going with this, is after the meeting I walked back to my place, and walked out onto some grass, over a sandy hill, wearing sandals and there was that delicious smoke smell in the air from a good fire and a cool-ish spring feel. For some reason I really thought back to camp, the ones I used to go to for I think 3 years and how awesome they were. I just kinda wanted to share that feeling.

…not full of dragons.

For the last few days we’ve been doing a lot of work on our network setup in one of the residence quads. We’re, finally, getting new equipment, but it requires that some of the wiring be corrected from and older standard. So, since we have to rewire the room and all the ends on the switches in the basements too, guess who’s doing the basement part?! I won’t entirely bitch too much, but here are some pictures to give you an idea. Plus, I love picture posts, obviously.

First of all to give you an idea with some surroundings pictures. I’ve now moved to a smaller bunker room, it’s ok, I don’t have to stand on a chair at least, but it smells worse :( But anyway, here we go!

Side of Wall 1

You better believe I spent at least an hour coming up with all the possible meanings and permutations of the letters on those pipes.

Side of Wall 2

See that box of broken lights? Perfect! Well, I spent more then half the day working without most of the lighting you see in these pictures. Let me tell you, matching up 8 small coloured cords to the right tiny hole, while really, being only 4 coloured, some are striped, some are just intermittently marked, without barely any light, is something scientists call “pretty gay”. I don’t know what the panel does, but it makes a lot of humming noise.

Side of Wall 3

Hey look, my corner! My prop chair, and the other one (we didn’t get along), some more random boxes, my pipes, the creepy hallway and the object of my affection.

Hallway

In case there were any doubts about just how much of a bunker this place is, here, have a hallway that goes to absolutely nowhere. And if I turned right as soon as I exited there was another one that went even more to nowhere! Fantastic, I know, you want to move in here.

Awesome with Garbage

I make a lot of garbage, those keys there, yeah that’s the master keys to just about everything. I locked them in this room at least once, and we were just lucky someone else happened to be around with the other pair. I’m so pro sometimes. Also meet my laptop, yes, that’s Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. It provides me with all the music that I could possibly want, except not really, as I have to copy it over and I can’t find my damn USB key. I think, it has maintained my sanity for the last few days, thanks for that!

Switches

Meet the object of my hate. To be fair, I don’t hate them, I hate the fact that my hands are in pain, my skin is like “I hate you” and I have at least 4 cuts, one of which was due to my hand meeting a sharp metallic corner while having an approximate velocity of 6m/s. In case you like numbers, that’s 17 rooms per floor, 3 floors, and 1 room on each floor has 2 cords to it. Each cord is 8 tiny coloured wires, that need to be redone. I’ll spare you the multiplication. The good news, is we’re actually getting quite a bit of an upgrade on the network out of this, and so help me if I think something is stupid, I’m going to take this chance to absolutely complain about it.

My Choices

I’ll close with this, my musical selection. It’s grown slightly over this week, as I was desperately trying to not listen to a song so much that I began to memorize is and hum it in my head all the time. It kinda worked.

Edit!
I don’t know how I forgot to add these.
Picture of Too Much Time

If you’re wondering if this creepy picture was done before the pipes were there, or in a really awkward position after the pipes were there, then so I am. Either way, it was one of those what the hell moments discovering it, this actually is what prompted me to make this picture tour.

Black Hall

If you know Calvin and Hobbes at all, you know that there is a recurrent strip theme with monsters under their bed. Well, that’s what I think is at the end of this hallway. Monsters! I think they tried to eat me, but now we’re cool.

I sometimes come across pictures on the internet that I end up saving. There’s no specific guideline for which ones I keep and which ones I don’t. But, I figured I’d go through some of them and make a comment or two. It’ll complete the lack of plans puzzle for this evening.

Animal Wallpaper
This has been my wallpaper for just a bit over a month. I love it’s simplicity. The animals don’t have a specific meaning, but do interestingly cover several continents for their native habbitat, kinda cool.

Berezi
This one mostly because I thought about my mom. Cheesy isn’t it? There are entire forests of birch trees that are back across the pond and yet we can’t seem to get any to grow up here.

Happy Guy
Happy Guy 2
Don’t these two guys look soooo happy? I’m jealous :(

Life Pictured
I found this on digg and reddit, along with this convenient gem which was featured on google quotes today:

I finally figured out the only reason to be alive is to enjoy it.

Envelope Card
I spent quite a bit of time on this one, between figuring out how to do it, finding the markers (finding a fine point whiteout pen is fun!) and getting it together. Thanks of course to xkcd for providing a great part for imitation. The only practical advice I can give you, is don’t attempt this unless you feel it’s worth it. Writing letters without smudging with a whiteout pen is a painful experience because it requires squeezing and writing at the same time which results in an awkward position and your hand hates it XD I hope the end result was worth it, it was to me, oh yeah, it was for someone.

Sleep, or how I’d love to just sometimes punch my own brain for thinking entirely too much that I can’t even fall asleep. Thanks for that, why can’t you be more useful sometimes :(

It was nice to see the sunrise though, it actually got a bit foggy/misty beforehand. It was pretty cool, then I was once again dissapointed when I discovered that the water situation around here is getting worse, oh well, maybe when I talk to the housing people in like 30 minutes they’ll do something about it.

Well, a couple of minutes ago I said cya to Holden, my friend and roommate. Now I have the apartment back to myself for just over a week. I’m not entirely sure what the hell I’m actually going to do for all of next week with just about everyone gone. There’s some cleaning up that’ll need to be done, but not even that much, I can do it in a couple of hours. Which brings up some serious questions of what to do for the next 5 days after work, because let’s not even get started on how dead it’s going to be at work… like zombie dead… a dead zombie dead… a dead turtle zombie dead… ok, you get the point.

At least tomorrow evening, Heroes, finally makes its return to television. The episode looks fantastic, and I personally can’t wait to see it. I did sign out a projector for it, but we’ll see if I bother to actually use it. I also think I’ll have to at least get popcorn, just because.

Heroes Anime

So, that’s that for now. Somehow I feel like I’ll be back here later today to waste some more time.

Edit: This just in, there’s no fucking water in my shower, this sucks. Period.

Are you, my lady are you?
Are you, my lady are you?
So are you, my lady are you?
The rain, the rain, the rain is falling down.

I was introduced to this new band. If you’ve played Pokemon then prepare to make all kinds of ‘I choose you…’ jokes, their name is Mew and the band is from Denmark. Other things aside, that’s pretty cool since I lived there for 3 or 4 months of my life.

From my boat,
I can see your house.
And when the lights are on,
I can watch you move.
Hear the wind,
Whispering your name.

There wasn’t a boat, but there was a backyard which quite literally connected to an inlet of water that went out into the sea on two opposite sides, with a huge island in the middle connected by a long bridge on one side. The thunderstorms over the water from this backyard were phenomenal.

You wanna go, you wanna see,
What lies could set you free,
You wanna see, right?
You’ll know this night.

There are currently 184 words in this post. I won’t lie, that’s about 100 more then the amount I have written for 3 papers due tomorrow. Well, they’re all for the same class, they’re all 800-900 words each. They don’t require external sources, which is a huge bonus, I took tomorrow off for that and other good reasons.

In a submersible I can hardly breathe,
As it takes me inside, so the light sings,
Answer me truthfully, do the clouds kiss you?

I watched some aeroplane disaster documentaries on TV yesterday while being half dead tired in my living room. It’s odd how I still get so excited over anything plane related, I clearly need to get rich and own one. I don’t think I’ll be growing out of this one.

It’s a nice way, I think,
To wake up with you,
It’s a nice way.

Volleyball

Only one person came to mind really! It just seemed to fit perfectly, not only does it go so well with the fact that we’ve played volleyball and totally talked about how being short makes it so different, but… actually, no wait, that’s exactly what made me think of it.

Soccer

We’re making an indoor soccer team for the summer, composed mostly of ResNet employees, ResNet friends, and anyone related. Some of us have played before quite seriously, others are in it just for fun! Either way it’s fantastic and we’re totally going to try and win, now we just need a team name, taking suggestions as of right now.

Summer Days

Yep, yep, it’s true! I can’t wait to just randomely lay around somewhere in the sun. Especially after doing something like playing soccer. Summer on campus is awesome and everyone is so much happier! And this time around I’ll be doing classes I enjoy, that’s going to make it even better :)

Fuzz Therapy

I want this next time I have a shitty day, plz, k, and thanks.
